RUBBER MOULDING

The reticulation of rubber, chemical transformation of the material is an irreversible reaction. This operation, made by a prolonged heating of the material at the step of vulcanization makes loose the plasticity of the rubber and gives it new properties. The first step of molding rubber consists in developping a mixture, formulated according to, mechanical and chemical requirement but also described by the customer.

Typically, the rubber mixture is formulated with four families of main components: gum, adjuvants, charges and plasticizers. The rubber molding can be achieved in three different processes: compression, transfer or injection. But in each case, the transformation of the rubber is done under hot temperature and the duration of this operation depends on the formulation of the mixture, the type of press machine and the mold used.
